music to which the dancers developed a beautiful dance in
a diagonal pattern. The great master of slower waltz music

CHA CHA CHA
This fascinating rhythm has come to us from
Cuba, the birthplace of that lovely and sensuous dance the
Rumba. Cha Cha Cha music has its own attractive character,
the melodic notes are played short or staccato. This has
resulted in an exciting dance with figuration similar to
the Rumba but with a chasse action added.

Evolved from rock and roll in the American
ice-cream parlour of the sixties. The twist introduced solo
dancing and discotheques became fashionable. Disco dancing
had a tremendous following in the seventies when John Travolta
was featured learning to dance in Saturday Night Fever and
is still popular today.
